Corn Cob LED Light Bulbs | LED Corn Lights

Corn cob LED lights (also called "corn LEDs" or "maize LEDs") are named for their appearance, with lines of square light diodes along all sides of their tube like shape. This gives you the sense of corn kernels on a cob. When the lights are turned on, however, they become brilliant, highly efficient replacements for HID lamps, like high pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs. Use these in locations like high bay lighting, parking lots, and street lighting -- places where you'd have used HID bulbs in the past.

Like all LED options, corn cob LEDs give you instant-on lighting, which is something you can't say about HID lighting. And they're mercury free. And best of all, they pay for themselves very quickly.

Here's an example:
check out this corn cob LED. It's bright enough to replace a theoretical 600 watt HID bulb. Let's say you use it to replace a 400W bulb that, because of its ballast, actually draws more than 450 watts, while the corn cob LED uses just 120 watts. If this is used as a high bay light or parking lot light an average of 12 hours a day, you would save approximately 4 kWh per day. At typical energy rates of about 12.5 cents/kWh, you're saving about 50 cents per day in energy costs.

So despite the higher initial cost of the corn cob LED, you're likely to save $180/year in the example above, and more than pay for the bulb in savings in under two years. In addition, you should enjoy the benefits of better lumen maintenance (the bulb will retain more of its original brightness longer than an HID will). And because the LED should last 2-3 times as long as the HID, you'll enjoy fewer trips up tall ladders replacing bulbs. That means lower costs of maintenance.

This makes corn cob LED lights a tremendous value for businesses that look at them as an investment that quickly starts making them money. Imagine a bulb that pays for itself in two years and then starts putting $150 or more onto your bottom line every year!

Also, don't miss the flexibility of multi-beam corn cob LEDs with moveable panels to provide you with more options in terms of directional lighting.
